Meet
The Owner John Peek
John grew up in South Georgia and graduated from high school in Boston,
Ga. in 1983. From there John attended college studying Wildlife Technology
and went to work for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. In
1988 John decided to go in business for himself and opened Myrtlewood
Sporting Clays in Thomasville, Ga. In 1998, John has relocated to Valdosta,
Ga. and operates Southwind Sporting Clays and Quail Hunting on a 1,000 acre lease
owned by the Langdale family. There John provides sporting clays shooting
and quail hunting. He does numerous events for charity and non profit groups
annually as well as operating a very busy quail hunting plantation.
John's hobbies have always been hunting and fishing. He and his wife, Mary
Catherine have two boys. Dawson is 8 and is following Dad as he has already
shot his first deer. Grayson is 5 and the family resides in Lake Park.
John has many years of experience entertaining his guest and puts on a "1st
Class" hunt, plantation style.

Meet The Manager: Ken Branham

Ken began shooting rifles and shotguns over 50
years ago and always catered to the shotgun as an avid hunter. Ken retired
after 20 plus years of military service in Jacksonville in 1990 and has been
involved in the game of Sporting Clays ever since. He has achieved the
"master level" of competitive shooting although he doesn't compete often
now. He is an experienced target setter and has been a certified instructor
for 16 years. Ken loves the game, the people, and is very knowledgeable in
firearms and ballistics.
Ken's hobbies are not only shooting he also enjoys playing golf and fishing. He is a
licensed charter captain and spends every hour he can in the backwaters chasing speckled sea trout and red fish from his flats boat. Ken considers WW Sporting Clays his home and looks
forward to YOUR visit. Take a moment to visit with Ken during your visit to
WW. He always loves to hear your ideas and comments which might help make the

Meet The Range Master: James Long
James was born and raised in Callahan, Fl. only 15 miles
from WW Sporting Clays. He began working as a Trapper in 2000 and graduated
from West Nassau High School in 2001. He is currently pursuing a
degree in Accounting at UNF in Jacksonville.
James has become an excellent wing shot and also loves to fish. James often
travels around the southeast participating in Sporting Clays tournaments and
has achieved "AA" status as a tournament shooter, recently winning AA Class
at the Florida State Championship.
He spends his quiet time in his kayak chasing redfish and sea trout
in the backwaters of North Florida.
James has become an excellent employee to WW and is well versed in all
aspects of the game. Whether setting targets, repairing machines, or running
the office, James always has a friendly attitude dedicated towards customer
service.
