| WW Sporting
Clays, located in N.E. Florida not far outside
Jacksonville,(directions) was established in 1990. At first opening,
There was only a small 50 shot range with two manual traps that
could accommodate 4-5 shooters at a time. The sport was relatively
new to this part of the country and was only meant to be a little
range for a few friends to practice wing shooting. |

| Very shortly
afterwards, the word got out and the traffic became overwhelming.
The owner, Wayne Scarborough and Manager, Ken Branham realized that
there was potential for a real commercial need to the residents of
Jacksonville. By 1995, there was a 5-Stand, a Skeet Range, and a 14
station sporting clays course that could accommodate a large number
of shooters at any given time. In 1996, the Florida State
Championship was held at WW with a record turn out. In 1998, the
Seminole Cup, was held at WW Sporting Clays. This was a 500 shooter
competition with over 30 states and 4 countries represented. WW
Sporting Clays never looked back and continues to grow. |
